Every homeless person has a name. Every homeless person has a story. "Homeless" is not a disease. It is a condition. And it is usually the end result of a list of unfortunate events, circumstances or choices made by, or forced upon an individual. Democrats hold a 61--18 super-majority in the California State Assembly and have been the majority party continuously since 1996. They also hold a 29-11 super-majority in the State Senate and have been the majority party continuously since 1956. The last Republican Governor in California was Arnold Schwarzenegger. His term ended at the beginning of 2011. There is a direct correlation between the rise of Democrat leadership in California, homelessness and the loss businesses and employment opportunities. There are many causes of homelessness and because of this there can't be a "one size fits all" solution. But, no matter how effective the treatment or training program may be, we wind up at the same place. Unless a person has a severe psychological or mental disorder, that person needs a job. Without this, the downward spiral will surely continue. So, while the rest of the country is enjoying record-breaking employment levels and unparalleled job creation, California is drowning in a sea of misery and hopelessness. People and businesses are leaving the State in record numbers. We can't fix the problem with the same people in office who created it. We need new leadership, top to bottom, and we need it NOW.
